Election Winner?

Nov 4, 2008 2:39 pm

Place you’re predictions here.  Who do you think’s going to win the elections and what will the percentage be?

Nov 4, 2008 2:40 pm

Even though I'm voting for McCain, I'm going to predict:

Obama 49% McCain 47%
Nov 4, 2008 3:27 pm

Obama and McCain will conceed by 10:30pm at the latest… I won’t put percentage numbers down, because it doesn’t matter, popular election doesn’t make the president, it is the electoral college(Remember Gore v Bush, won popular, lost presidency)… First to 270 electoral wins…

I predict that the Amercian people lose, no matter which one of these jokers is elected.

The process is so broken and riddled with fraud, intimidation, media manipulation, invalidation of military ballots, provisional voting, duplicate voting, fraudulent registrations, down right stealing and ballot box stuffing that neither side trusts that we have had a fair election    ,,,,,,,,,and they will be right.   The American people will not trust the election process for generations because of this election.  We lose!!

Hi…from Canada. Missed the comments and chats. Prediction Obama Wins after the excitment then " the letdown ". One term and out. I know miracles do happen.

Snags...my laugh for the day , you in line for free coffee from Starbucks. I understand Ben & Jerry's are giving free Ice Cream and Krispy Kream special star shaped donuts. In Canada we just get to vote...how boring Just as a comment we are all in this together. Think of this ....no don't think to hard. In about another 24 months the next two years of trying to get re-elected. Spare us all.

The sad thing is that those places even need to make offers like that to entice people to vote.  How about civic duty and being a good, if not well informed, citizen?

Norway, can  you give us a quick primer on socialized medicine?  It might become important for us to understand it in the next 4 years.

Hopefully the media will still be allowed to broadcast the news by then…if the Obama Ministry of Information doesn’t put a ban on that.

Today, for the first time in my life, I have lost faith in my country.  Are more than 50% of the people really this stupid?  See what 35+ years of the education process dominated by the teachers’ union has gotten us?  I’m sick–just sick!

The country owes you so much. I'm happy and love this country no matter the faults and hardships we have faced both as a result of our own doing and others'. When Bush won twice, I didn't cry and whine and belittle people on a f'n message board ( so the answer your stupid question Morphius, none of your f'n business). does that make me a betetr American? Hell no. It's a choice I made. If you don't like it, do what it takes to stop this senseless and uncontructive posting.    If you want to be unpatriotic bigots who whine and can not take responsibility for your own actions and happiness, maybe you should pack up and leave. My choices for coming to this country (of which I was born a US citizen) and how I live my life are a matter of privacy and, yet, I concede I can not stop you from trying to pat your broken egos by bashing me.   I challenge any of you to speak out about what effort you put forth to further your candidate's chances of winning the white house outside of a vote, $25 and BSing on a message board. How hard did you work for it? What responsibility did you take when you weren't brown nosing the puts of the online message board world?   If you did your part, as IndyOne said, and feel comforted in knowing you did, I'm sure you wouldn't be posting the trite that is filling this thread. That's the job of lazy whiners.   We had two great men running for the highest position on our soil, a situation any country would love to be in. John McCain is a great guy. Obama is a great guy. They have different views but in the end they both tuthfully, I believe, want what is best for this nation.   Greyhairedbroker said it best and has typed out the smartest post I've seen here in the past two weeks. Morphius, this also addressed your ignorant question:

What we witnessed yesterday was the violent death of the Repubican Party. They had, more, or less, been painting themselves into a corner for some time now. From here,  they will eat their own for a time as the death throws continue. What will hopefully emerge is a true conservative party. To move forward they have to quit being the party of angry white men and make peace with a nation that is multi-cultural, and diverse in lifestyles and values. They need to stop alienating anyone with a college degree who is also cosmopolitan with the elitist title. They have to stop being the enemy of enviromental protection and face up to climate change. If it does that and cultivates a truly conservative ideology, instead of a divisive one, they will come back. Failing that they are a dead sect, regardless of how badly Obama screws up. Obama’s election wasn’t a win, it was a mandate. If the republican party fails to get that message, there is no future for them. Mccain said it best “The people have spoken.” Yes they have. Now the real work for the republican party begins.

I see you're not much of a student of history in addition to being someone who tosses around insinuations of racism with abandon. A brief history lesson;   LBJ, beat Goldwater like a rented mule..... couldn't even run for the nomination of his own party after a single term.   Nixon, won in a landslide (popular vote and EC) that makes Obama's pale by comparison.... his resignation "doomed" his party forever (so the critics of the time told us)   Carter (pay particularly close attention here, since we just elected his clone), won big, provided a "fresh start", promised to never lie to us......led the US so far off into a ditch in every area of presidential authority that he opened the door to Reagan, just a term and change after Nixon "destroyed" the GOP.   You really don't want to see the GOP "become a true conservative party", you'd loath them no matter what they do to reform. Your Daily Kos language makes that clear.   I suggest you not puff that chest out too far and watch closely as most of us the just saw our guy lose so you how to behave with good graces after a lost and how to be the loyal, ass opposed to the hysterical opposition. Obama's promised everything up to and including government issued unicorns that poop Iphones. I went after Put because of his tone, but frankly, he sounded just like your (and BG) usual blather, so I suggest you put a sock in it yourself.  Make no mistake, you have zero room to open your mouth on the subject.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

If it wasn't detrimental to the country I love, I’d spend the next four years treating Obama in exactly the same fashion you and yours treated Bush, McCain and most every other Republican in my lifetime. The vile, dishonest and borderline psychotic discourse route has been the common one taken by those on your side. I only disapprove of it because of love of country, and frankly, because I’m a better person than you.
You wish you were but Oof, I can see why: First the horrid drug testing policy joke and the skill you possess to pass judgement about someone you don't know. Certainly, no one should ever accuse you of being a cliche since no one is cpable of such a feat. Yes you might have taken my calling out "whiners" to include you (perhaps because deep inside you know you are?) but I didn't mean it as an attack on you as a person.   So what else? Can you explain the laws of physics to me without the need to open a physics book?   You confuse disappointment with whining and think they're mutually exclusive. Good for you, sir.   I'm out. Wasting my tiiiiiiiiiime

That statement was meant to be a jab at Bush. Not something to get you to take seriously so you could find a reason to pick a fight with someone.
Thanks for clarifying that we are not to take what you say seriously.  Why do you bother posting anything if you don’t have any intent to back up your words?  Or don’t your words mean anything ever?
Hey, I posted clear evidence, even quoting, Palin and McCain fli flopping on their issues to which no one was able to retort.
Blah, blah, blah.

I’ve challenged you twice, and you’ve evaded that challenge twice.  If you had a shred of evidence you would have shared it by now.  Obviously this is yet another of the ridiculous statements that you yourself admit we should not take seriously.

Here’s your third chance before you strike out without taking a single swing, ana: If you are trying to imply that W “used religion to mask preemptive war strikes” cite one credible and verifiable source to support your claim.  Just one.

We’re all waiting on you, ana.

Well, there was that one time, W said that thing, and that is my proof.

Well played, primo!

Hard to argue with irrefutable evidence like that!
If I "passed judgment" on you it was based your clearly delusional comment with you've been asked to support, and for which you gave a laughable excuse. You had it coming.
I'm out. Wasting my tiiiiiiiiiime
I suggest you do run along. I'm sure you can find a place where you can spout the sort of addle-minded blather that you did and everyone there will mutter some sort of agreemnt.
Nov 10, 2008 10:08 pm

I had it coming? What did you do to justify wasting your time on a message board? Ya just have to be right because in real life no one gives you the time in day.

I mean, lmao, come on! You guys are still going at it? Why, for what purpose? Morf, I was't going to go off topic and start a senseless argument that was irrelevant to topic at hand. I actually have a job to do. Sorry to see you and Primo hate yourselves and family so much that you resort to nothing but senseless posting over the internet. I'm sorry you're both casualties to social retardation. I have better things to do than explain myself and my statements to a bunch of pikers.   Seriously, do you not have a job? Is that how you find the time?
Well, there was that one time, W said that thing, and that is my proof.
Oh the irony. haha.

Guess the credible and verifiable source question was “above your pay grade” huh?

Nov 10, 2008 11:13 pm

Ana,

If you have the time to post complaining about us having the time to post, why do you never seem to find the time to answer the simple question you keep avoiding by whining like a school girl?  You had three clear chances to answer the question:

If you are trying to imply that W “used religion to mask preemptive war strikes” cite one credible and verifiable source to support your claim.  Just one.

Three times you were directly asked, three times you ran away trying to divert attention.  You can’t answer it because you simply made that charge up out of thin air.  I guess being called on that invention is just another inconvenient truth for you, isn’t it ana?

At least Gore’s total BS fabrication just involved taking credit for inventing the internet; he didn’t directly attack anybody.  Yours involved trying to attack someone else for doing something he never even did.

Gore’s invention was absurd but laughable.

Your invention was absurd and despicable.

If you can try to respond to the issue at hand, take your best shot.  If all you’re going to do is huff and puff and continue to evade the issue, save your precious time - we can’t stand to watch much more of your sorry writhing.

Nov 10, 2008 11:21 pm

Speak for yourself Morph, I can stand to watch his pathetic attempts at forming complete thoughts all day.  Guess it is because I hate myself so much.

Nov 10, 2008 11:30 pm

Or because you “resort to nothing but senseless posting over the internet.”

Whereas Ana takes the high road by posting his senseless dribble … um, perhaps over the interwebs or something, but definitely not the internet.

He works at H&R Block, he is probably busy ramping up for $50 tax return season.

Nov 11, 2008 3:37 am

Never got the bat off his shoulder…

  Ana, you have been punked!
Nov 11, 2008 4:09 am

I’ve been wha, haha? Who pulled the prank? You do know what ‘punked’ means right?
If you had a shred of evidence you would have shared it by now.
Yea, I won't post pictures of my parents, so I must not have any. Or maybe Primo can formulate another guess why I wouldn't. Talented you are, Morphius. at the very least when you leave the office not having made a dime to pay your bills you still have Primo to brownnose you.   "I've challenged you twice.".I can't stop laughing. The world begins and ends with a Morphius internet challenge.    Sorry, I forgot to read the registeredrep.com disclaimer that said that from here on out my ego was a servant to the message boards of whiny republicans.
We're all waiting on you, ana.
And life, self esteem and happiness is waiting on you, piker.

You poor pathetic sod.  Obviously when you can't back up your foolish, absurd inventions, Ana, all you are left with is to call people childish names.

So very, very mundane.  And so much less work than actually thinking.

Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.

Nov 15, 2008 6:43 pm

Hi from Canada …today the leaders of the G20 are meeting in Washigton. Interesting as they sip on their 500.00 bottle of Vino. I am betting that the only concrete point of the meeting is to meet again in Spring/ 2009 for another go around.

Geezuz no wonder we are in this mess.....from government to private industry. AIG and another meeting costing 300K , Government Leaders jetting in to Washington and enjoying their Vino. Where have all the true Leaders gone?? Some serious ass kicking needs to be done at all levels globally to get the ship turned around. It won't be nice or pretty but " stuff " needs to be done. Throwing money at a problem it most probabilty won't solve the problems/issues , bailing out industries ( poorly managed and out of line ) won't solve the problem , excessive Union Contracts ( job security and over paid ) need to be adjusted. My Saturday morning rant...!!!
Nov 16, 2008 12:49 am

Look guys, I hate AIG as much as anyone, but seriously, the latest “AIG” excursion was freakin’ ROYAL ALLIANCE, one of the financial service subsidiaries, you know, like the ones most of us work for?

Don’t they still deserve their annual seminar?

AIG sucks, but leave their subsidiaries out of it.
