Designation / Functional

Anybody know of a designation that’s geared toward trading / actually making money vs. CFP etc etc. I don’t care about credibility of the designation, I think it’s ALL about making money. Anything beyond that is not relevant in my thinking.

Certified Arbitrage Expert? or some such?

Look at CMT - Chief Market Technician. Also take a look at NAAIM dot org.

Any thoughts on the CFP. While, I don't go anywhere in depth in what is covered in the CFP material, it seems Mother Merrill is focused on getting their advisors to hold a CFP. I wonder if in a few years they will start running commericals on why to only use a CFP holder.

Designations = Knowledge has been certified by some 3rd party

Licenses = Functionable ability to act/execute     It sounds like you need some other license - not necessarily a SECURITIES or INSURANCE license, but perhaps a proprietary system license to help you do what you want to do.   For example, I'm a LEAP licensee.  I'm authorized to use their system per the terms of the license.  I still have my securities & insurance licenses and I don't need LEAP to help me complete an application - but using LEAP materials & software allows me to communicate my value to a client in a unique way.   Perhaps you need a "selling" system or a "proprietary trading" system to help you do what you want.   And no, I don't know what's out there to recommend to you - particularly with selling investment products.

Maybe the way to really go is to have a designation that you certify others for. How's that for credibility. Interesting. Thank you for your thoughts
