Best month Ever

May 2, 2006 2:44 am

What was your best month ever?

Newly invested assets/production/Total Assets

Just curious what others are doing, I brought in about 3 mil this past month and am feeling pretty darn good about that.

May 2, 2006 1:42 pm

don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back

May 2, 2006 2:47 pm

My clients MADE more than that last month.

May 2, 2006 3:47 pm

Well aren't you a bada** Revealer.

Why don't you and the other junior brokers in your office go jerk off to the movie "Wall St" and pretending to be brokers.

No broker, I don't care what LOS, would scoff (let alone cut someone down) at bringing in 3 million, regardless if it was their best month or an avg month.

You're an idiot.

May 2, 2006 4:53 pm

I agree $3million is a very good month.

How many clients was that?

Can you do fee based or did you sell A shares.

congrats.

Don’t listen to the trolls out there.

$1M is a good month.
$3M is an excellent month!

Keep up the good work!
May 2, 2006 5:45 pm

good job...

most I ever brought in AUM in a month is around 1.5M

scrim

May 2, 2006 5:55 pm

It’s a nice change to focus on AUM brought in, instead of watching commission screen 'till the end of the month. Nice in general to watch your book grow fatter.

Bank: Tsk,Tsk. Name calling is so becoming to you. I would NEVER call you an idiot. Not OK for me to put AUM increase in client terms? Whassa matter? Catch you on a bad day? The other bank employees not allow you to be the pivot man in their daily circle jerk? I’d invite you to the next screening of “Wall Street” but you’d probably be embarassed to see how “real” brokers do it. In the future, please refer to me as 1,(id)000,(i)000(ot). Ya’ know, put a couple of commas behind my name. Now get back to spinning old ladies into 10 yr. surrender annuities or whatever it is you "bank"fcs do.

Revealer and frumhere,

Thanks for your support.  3 mil a month x 12 months is 36 mil a year. 5 years in you'd have a 180 million dollar book with 0 growth.  Since magazines like RR and such write about top producers with 100 - 200 million dollar books (see who's moving where), I know 3 mil is not bad especially considering it wasn't a whale I landed just a bunch of new biz.

Maybeee

to answer your question I brought in a rollover of 1.1 million, another for 600K and a 400K transfer the rest were all 100K or less from book.  I do a combination of commission and fees.  So some of that was A shares some B some C and some in wrap accounts.

I really just wanted to see how everyone else is doing, I wasn't exactly trying to pat myself on the back.  I usually do about half of that every month.  Hey revealer are you stupid I can buy my client anything you can what do you think this is 1980.

May 3, 2006 12:33 am

Bnkrep,

Good job big guy, don't listen to revealer.

Keep it up and eventually revealer's job will be to sit on your crapper just to warm it up for you in the morning.

May 3, 2006 1:03 am

9 million was my best.

I agree that 1 mil per month is very good for a broker in years 2-7.  It seem harder to bring in new assets now as I spend very little time prospecting.  Now, it's probably closer to 500k - 700k per month average.

3 million is excellent.  Nice job.

Bank1: I know it’s not 1980. The other Bank called me an idiot, now you are calling me stupid. I was simply making a point about “How’s the clients doing?” and I get called names. BTW, what WERE you doing in 1980?

Reav,

"Seeing that I am a Jones Broker??????"  Interesting comment from you, how did you peg me???   I take it Jones Brokers have to clean the crapper themself???  Now that's a reason not to go to work for them.  Thanks for the info pal.  Not a bad joke though.

May 3, 2006 3:49 am

Revealer,

You assume all bank reps sell only annuitties.  That is what was going on in 1980.  I didn't call you stupid, unless you beleive that is what all bank reps do, then I guess I did.

In 1980 I was fascinating about my 4th grade teachers breasts and today I sometimes still think about them

May 3, 2006 11:23 am

Ahhh 1980.

My first Foray into Junior High…the coveted 7th grade.  I had a
lime green 10 speed and a pair of K-2 Hawk snow ski’s…that was my
summer and winter world.  I learned what the “bases” were at the
skating rink, and I was watching Dave Kingman, Ted Sizemore, and Ivan
DeJesus of the Chicago Cubs all summer on TV.  My paper route gave
me enough money to play Missle Strike and Galaga at the Arcade, and my
Dad lost a job, throwing the family into a financial pinch that would
last a decade and drive me to this wonderful business!

…thanks for listening, I feel better.

May 3, 2006 1:31 pm

don't forget about Larry Biitner, Manny Trillo, Scot Thompson, Bobby Murcer and Bruce Sutter.

What about Asteroids?

May 3, 2006 5:58 pm

Great job.  3 mil is a lot of assets.

My best month was a little over 15 million new assets.  All one account.  All of that was in only two stocks by the way.

Referrals seem to be the trick at least for me nowdays.  Probably end up with about 6-7 mil new assets this year.
