Anyone seen this clown? Mark Matson

am i the only one who wonders if that dude is sane enough to be managing 1.7 billion?

Actually, I've known and worked with Mark for several years.  He and his entire staff have an impeccable reputation of integrity and are committed to the success of their clients and the coaches who serve then.  I would encourage you to challenge and stretch your thinking and investigate what their firm is about before you make such an assertion.  As an example of the belief that free markets work, apparently with $2.3 billion under management the message does work.

I’ve worked with Mark Matson for a few years now and in my 16 years of experience in the financial industry there is NO ONE with more integrity than him. I use him exclusively as my money manager.  

Ok. Quit creating usernames to post how great Mark is. Do you see just under the area where your name is and posts. It says 1.



This is certainly not integrity.

I don’t understand all the hate being spewed about Mark Matson.  In my time as an advisor he has been the one to help me grow and has been the primary money manager I’ve used.  I don’t think I’ve met an individual with more integrity since I’ve joined the industry.  Please show some consideration before coming on here and bashing someone with a track record of Mark’s.

Also, why is the video about not wearing suits, when all of his TV appearances have him wearing a suit?

Seems to me that Moron, I mean moraen is having some serious life issues here.  It speaks volumes that he would take one guy’s video blog site and create an entire subject about it on this forum.  Is Mark Matson really his problem?  He needs to stop before more people find this topic and start to feel sorry for him.  Bigger battles must be waged, so no more time for me on this stupid and childish topic.  At least Matson is doing something and not cowering in the corner like most of the advisors these days!

That hilarious… they all joined today… The guy is a clown and so is his website, and he uses dimension funds(those did well over the last 10 years) so technically he should be managing much more. Plus I think he has something like 1500 guys who just send money his way.

I am a former employee of Matson Money.  I can attest that PBarnard and JChoi DO indeed know Mark Matson--and are NOT Mark.   And that Matson Money is a legitimate company with integrity.  I will add, however, that Mark Matson is an insanely egotistical nut.  His whole company is founded upon nepotism.  His sister-in-law is the VP of Marketing (pulling in over $300K a year, with no college degree) and her mother is her assistant.  And her cousin is the Executive Project Manager...sorry to say that there are a lot of hard-working employees there that don't get their due--because heaven forbid the executive family members feel threatened due to their own inferiority and inabilities.

Mark is a very brilliant (no matter how cheesy) guy.  If he would pull his head out of his a$$ and take note of all the wonderful employees that make his company successful --even inspite of his family members--there would be no ceiling of complexity to be had at that company.
But when you have employees who are "job-scared," and Mark is surrounded by a few "yes-men"-- Matson Money won't be able to reach its full potential.

Wow.  You guys are such haters.  Is the guy a complete tool shed?  Absolutely.  However, the guy does have about $2B under management, which is about $2B more that myself or any of you guys that poke around this forum to kill time throughout the day. 

Love him or hate him, the guy is killing it.  Why is it so hard for you guys to admit when someone is making a ridiculous amount of money in this business and wildly successful in terms of growth?  Instead, you go the junior high route of making fun of him and point at how stupid his shirts are. 

I've spoken with Mark and have some of his materials.  Do I believe everything he says, no.  But, he does has a great system, which is why many advisors rely on him for their marketing, asset management and practice processes.  His system works. 

Why not bypass the creep factor of him and try to uncover how the heck the guy has $2B under management and maybe you can learn something to help your business. 

Trust no one with under 10 posts. :-)

hahahahaahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahahahaha.  Our site sucks so much that you make a new username almost everyday for whatever reason.  It takes me about three clicks to delete your "new" personas.   If our site sucks so much, how on earth does it bother you so much that you would waste your valuable time to come and make up new usernames?  5 this week!  Typically the amount of effort in the response is indicative of the emotional attachment one has when rejected.  You must have loved that site.

Tell you what; I gain more from the movement of information over there than I ever did here. There may be 10000 users here that all produce $600,000 a year or more. But none of them ever say anything. They never post, never share, don't deign to help others.

I know right?  You have to admit though, it's pretty interesting how they allow everybody to see everybody's production.  It's at least useful so that you can determine whether or not you are wasting your time.

I don't understand the need to belittle forums that you choose not to be a part of.  AH was born out of necessity when this forum went through a crisis.  It serves a purpose and niche that this forum can't serve due to it's public nature.  I doubt that the average production here is much different than the average production there.  With the exception of Bond Guy and a few select others, most people lie about their production anyway.

It's like this, guys...most big producers don't have time for forums like this.  Bond Guy is the exception, not the rule.  I should waste less time here (and recently, I have been) because most of the posting is crap like this thread.  I'm not a big producer nor do I have any real aspiration to be a big producer.  I survived two of the most wicked bear markets since the great depression and today, I'm within $8 mil of my $50 mil AUM goal.  That's it...$50 mil.  I frankly don't care if I experience significant growth after that point.  I make what I need to right now to have some pretty nice stuff.  I own my own firm and my own office.  I control my own destiny.  I'll pay off my office debt in the spring and the only thing I'll owe on is the new house I'm building (and I don't intend to owe on that for long).  For me, that's more important than producing a million a year.  For others, chasing the holy grail of being a million dollar producer is most important.  That's fine...just understand that million dollar producers on either of these forums are a very rare commodity.

...and understand that most of the frequent posters here are not here out of the charity of their hearts...they are here because they have the time to post a lot because they are small producers.  If you think that's any different here, you, my friends, are easily deceived.

It’s like this, guys…most big producers don’t have time for forums like this.  Bond Guy is the exception, not the rule.  I should waste less time here (and recently, I have been) because most of the posting is crap like this thread.  I’m not a big producer nor do I have any real aspiration to be a big producer.  I survived two of the most wicked bear markets since the great depression and today, I’m within $8 mil of my $50 mil AUM goal.  That’s it…$50 mil.  I frankly don’t care if I experience significant growth after that point.  I make what I need to right now to have some pretty nice stuff.  I own my own firm and my own office.  I control my own destiny.  I’ll pay off my office debt in the spring and the only thing I’ll owe on is the new house I’m building (and I don’t intend to owe on that for long).  For me, that’s more important than producing a million a year.  For others, chasing the holy grail of being a million dollar producer is most important.  That’s fine…just understand that million dollar producers on either of these forums are a very rare commodity.

…and understand that most of the frequent posters here are not here out of the charity of their hearts…they are here because they have the time to post a lot because they are small producers.  If you think that’s any different here, you, my friends, are easily deceived.

I don’t care what others produce. I was simply pointing out what a joke at least on of the mods over there is. And if you read the above posts you will see his attitude, the same one if not worse than he uses on AH. By letting him post the last couple of days I think everyone sees what he is about. And believe it or not he is worse on AH. That’s part of the reason it is so lame and he is a a**hole. And then the next two largest posters are a bank rep and a male sales assitant. Not much good info there.

Guess what guys?!? They are now at $7.6B in AUM. I wonder if any of you have experienced the same level of growth as this "clown" has over the past 7 years. Something tells me that you haven't!
