According to stock trader's almanac

Mar 2, 2006 12:33 am

There will be a sharp pullback starting March 17th. I don’t have any

previous experience with the cycle work they produce. Has anyone out there

used STA’s intelligence?

Today, 1/3 of my stocks hit 52 week highs and I’m debating whether to lock

in gains before pre-announcements kick in. Thanks.

Gee whiz! If 1/3 of your stocks are hitting new highs, why in the H would you be on a discussion board looking for advice??

I don’t know about the stock trader’s almanac, but my great-aunt Sadie has a bunion she claims predicts market patterns

Mike, that’s the funniest post I’ve seen from you yet.  Keep 'em coming.

C'mon, that's just silly! Who's going to believe a bunion can predict the market? Maybe Cramer could invite your aunt to the show and slap her feet on screen, for a preview of the next day's market action.

As for me, I prefer the more scientific method of determining market direction through the measurement of positive and negative ions in the air. In fact, I give seminars explaining this revolutionary breakthrough. (During the seminar, I wear this neat lab coat to add an extra air of authority to the subject. It's amazing how docile and agreeable people become, in the presence of a lab coat.) There's even a website dedicated to the ion-challenged: www.superforce.com

I went to that web site.  that is unbelievable.  i had a client tell me that he started an investment fund with friends and they raised about 3mm, hired an options trader that “scalps” the mkt.  and they are up 100% in the last 6 months.  i have absolutely no idea what he is talking about.

I have a magic 8 ball on my desk.  It is very helpful and accurate.

Actually my clients get a laugh out of it when they ask something dumb like "How is the market going to be this year".   I say "Let me check my analytical tool" and reach for the 8 ball.

As a recruiter, I ask candidates that question all the time.  I’m amazed at how many idiots are “absolutely sure” of their answers.  It seems the less time you’ve been a broker the more you know about the market…

How about the Bradley model which is a predictor of the stock market based upon planetary alignments.  Strangly enough, it has been a good predictor of the market movements as compared to Wall Street analysis.  No joke.
