TD National LINC Heads To Orlando

More than 3,000 RIAs and wealth management industry icons are expected to gather in Orlando this week for the 20th iteration of TD Ameritrade Institutional’s National LINC conference.

Along with the chance for some 1,700 advisors to network and collaborate for a week with vendors and TD Ameritrade Institutional's executives, LINC’s agenda boasts at least 70 presentations and educational sessions for advisors.

“It’s amazing how far independent RIAs have come in 20 years and we’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for this industry,” said Tom Nally, the president of TD Ameritrade Institutional.

A major focus this year will be on technology. Of the 250 firms exhibiting in Orlando’s Marriott World Center, more than a quarter are technology firms that integrate with TD Ameritrade Insititutional's Veo platform. Advisors can meet the companies and learn how to adopt their technology in the conference's designated Tech Lab and Veo Village.

“Advisors tell us they want insights on the issues that are poised to impact their firms, such as cybersecurity, attractive new talent and keeping pace with new technology and regulation,” Nally said. “More than ever, National LINC gives advisors the guidance and support that can help them thrive in a fast-changing digital age.”

In the Business Consulting Lounge, advisors can attend workshops and one-on-one sessions with practice management consultants. QuonWarrene, a financial technology consultant, will be on hand to show advisors how to leverage technology to improve practice management and take advantage of opportunities in the retirement plan market.

“Advisors can visit the lounge to build upon conference insights, network with peers, have questions answered and continue the conversation with presenters, industry experts and the TD Ameritrade team,” QuoneWarrene co-founder Neal Quon said. The company will also host a boot camp on how advisors can use social media.

TD Ameritrade is also putting next generation advisors in the spotlight at the upcoming conference, and a slate of inspirational keynote presentations from national figures; This year’s headliners include Ian Bremmer, the president and founder of Eurasia Group; David Isay, the founder of StoryCorps; and Dara Torres, a 12-time Olympic medal winner for women’s swimming.

Also in time for the first round of primary caucuses, Friday will kick off with a presentation from figures on both sides of the political aisle. Paul Begala, a democratic strategist and CNN political news contributor, will appear alongside Tucker Carlson, a political analyst for Fox News and co-host of “Fox and Friends Weekend.”
