I am currently a complex manager at WellsCOVIA. I was with A.G. Edwards and I now find myself as miserable as can be. The great change to wells left all the idiots of Wachovia in place and they couldn’t find their asses if they were sitting on their hands. They don’t seem to care about the Adviser nor the support staff. Managers cannot recruit, because the deal sucks and the back office screws up the on boarding for the recruits. No more trainees allowed, so the fun is gone with no return on the horizon. Who out there is at a company like Edwards and which one is it?

Are you a producing complex manager?  IOW, are you looking to produce, manage, or both?

Non producing (worst career decision that one can make is giving up your book).

I guess that limits you.  You might consider talking to some large indy firms that are looking for some management and/or experienced producers to come to their firm.  I think the wirehouse route is heading in the other direction.

Stifel is the place, I think your best bet for you would be looking into opening a new office in your area if there isn’t one already, that way you could bring over reps and be in mgmt. The problem you will have is that being no producing most of your options will be other wirehouses that are the same or worse than wells, and most of them are cuting back on mgmt not increasing it.

If you want info on SF let me know, I am an AGE refugee lol
