Tremendous changes all around…what retention “change” do you speak
of? Growth Plus (minus), or the penaly box moving to 300,000 in
2010? Yes, a 20% increase from '09 level of 250,000.

Not so sure, McCann is definitely biased against lower producers, internal support is going to get tiered. If you do under $750,000 good luck finding help.

Actually, McCann's comments have been about how all clients should have access to the same resources. Teiring was Hoekstras deal.
Growth Plus is being changed and clarified after comments from the field. It is more of a pay package enhancement than a retention deal. If you weregoing to leave it is not enough to make you stay. If you were not going to leave it is more than you had.
The entire wirehouse industry is biased against producers under $500,000 not just UBS. These advisors will continue to move to regionals were the cost structure makes them profitable.
I believe that McCann will restructure Weehawken totally. In the last RIF they did not lay off one MD. The place is not efficient at all. He will also restructure what is left of the RCC as it does not make a lot of sense to keep it the way it is.
I would expect some office consolidaation and a small amount of closure. Mostly just normal type business decisions. The main focus has to be on making it easier to work at UBS.

Penalty box going to 300k (LOS 7+)-- will be announced this week along with a mandatory business builder account that all fa’s will have pretax $ go to. will be used to re-imburse expenses like state registration fees etc…

Large producers get good service, most get a call center.

firm pays if FA does at least 1k of biz in the state or if team 1.5k
sometimes you have that cousin of your best client in new mexico that does no business that you have to pay for – thats where biz builder comes in OR god forbid FA’s would actually do a seminar or take clients out to dinner without a wholesaler (I know scarry concept)
