Anyone get a retention deal recently?  I am out of contract and want to stay put but recruiters are calling.  Doing $350k revenue.  What should I expect/ask for, if anything?

Expect nothing unless your firm is bought!

Oracle, you would think that is true, but indy bd's are throwing around money for new blood like crazy...sometimes they forget about their own talent. My firm is certainly no exception.

If you want a retention package, get a transition bonus offer from another firm and wave it in front of your existing firm.  Worst case scenario, they call your bluff and you are where you started.

Good luck!  Let me know how it works out for you.

Or run the risk of beint escorted out of the building!  Seriously, you had better be ready to leave if you do that!

oracle,

one of the worst ideas ever.

I do not think waving anything in front of them is a good idea!

Remember  you are at a wirehouse!!! You own nothing not even the pen in your hand, not the desk, or even the Buisness card with your name on it.

They would just as see you leave and call the clients and add to the existing reps revenue.

You are scum in there eyes, get use to it!

Sorry if I busted your ego. But better now then after you make a mistake. .
