I enjoy the lively posts on this especially on Jones topics. It seems that more posts are related to Jones than any other firm. So how many of the Jones beaters are ex-Jones and how many of the Jones friendly are at Jones? Any ex-Jones friendly people out there?

I’m not.

I AM EX- JONES. I HAD TO LEAVE BEFORE I WENT COMPLETELY BROKE . WHEN YOU HIRE ON AT JONES TO BE A BROKER THEY DON`T TELL YOU YOUR GOING TO BE BROKER!!! NOTHING LIKE USING YOUR MONEY TO HELP PROMOTE THE JONES NAME. THEY TELL YOU ALL THE GOOD STORIES ABOUT THE TOP PRODUCERS ETC. THEY DON`T TELL YOU THAT 95 % OF THEM WERE HANDED 50 TO 60 MILLION. THWE OTHERS HAVE BEEN OUT FOR 20 PLUS YEARS.

I'm ex Jones. Was there for 4 years and indy now for almost 3.  I already posted my thoughts about EDJ as a bad marriage.

I don't hate Jones, but just like my ex husband, I don't want to associate with Jones, have lunch or send birthday cards.

…i don’t want to do that with my current wife…is that a problem?

BabblingLooney - Wow, thanks for putting things into perspective on bad marriage. That makes a lot of sense. Glad you’ve recovered.

BL- yes, I agree that your analogy is excellent… as usual.

Wow... I can understand why you are yelling!  And couldn't agree more.  This is why EDJ is now hiring a great number of college grads to replace the converts.  And the 50 to 60 million handed to them... SO PRICELESS!  I know of 2 in my region... and they act like they are EDJ gods... everyone must listen as they ramble on at EVERY meeting about how they do business.  I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself.  And yes, $150k in production and I can't pay my modest bills... Here I come!

Free & Ready,

I couldn't agree more w/ you, I have seen the things you refer to first hand also.

I was at Jones for 8 years.  I did over $500,000 in production for the past 3 years.  I did over $350,000 the 2 years before that.  Now that I’m indy I have just done $100,000 in production in my first 3 months.  I’m excited about the prospects going forward.

College grads? That's an improvement. In our region they hired former enterprise rent-a-car boys & former black jack dealers from the indian casino.

I believe it was BrokerRecruit who said it best.  At Jones you have wirehouse payout and indy expenses.

Normally we could expect Guest1 to chime in about how he makes more money than anybody in the entire world, "placing tiny trades for clients all over central california working from a tiny one room stripmall office!" (tiny ads...newspapers all accross america...tiny one bedroom apt... road to riches infomercial...get it?)

But I think the other GP's took his satellite dish away for getting called out here.

How's that email working now G!
