Hi guys and gals,

Its Friday afternoon and I was just cut by my Merrill BM.  I was due to receive my production number this week but the Branch Manager fired me for lining up a $6mm account prior to being cleared.  My 7 had come over but my 66 hadnt been finalized yet (passed the test again 10/07).  I didnt accept any order but he said that just the meeting was enuff. I was first registered in 1982 and always had high production.  I had been doing something else since 00.  I recognize that maybe I wasnt their material for whatever reason, but believe me, I ate up their training and I have a very clear focus about what to do. I am absolutely certain that I was going to hit their 15mm AUM goals, maybe within 6 months. What was so attractive to my prospects was Merrill's lending platform, and their excellent name. I am free to relocate to any area (currently in St Louis).  I am very good at getting in front of business and bringing it onboard, but I feel that I must have a strong brand credibility and service.......Any ideas??  Criticism OK...LOL I can take it!

Well...since you are in STL...Did you know that one of the best firms in the biz has it's headquarters in STL.  The name is on the dome downtown.  Edward Jones.  Maybe you've heard of us?  If brand credibility and service are your only qualifications, PM me and we can chat.

spiff, please take 'em. if he can’t follow simple rules at ML he’d be much better off with the best of the best …with honors…sir.

Facilitating a sale with benefit of registration that's a real gold start on his U-4 and will look really nice on a Green wall.

Spiff - I thought you were going to say A.G. Edwards when you mentioned best firms…St. Louis.

Going from a wire house environment with all the tools available to Jones would be a shock to most.   I wonder what they are going to put on the guy's U-5.  They may not put anything which would be good, but other managers are going to want to know what happened during his short time at Merrill.    Stiefel might not be a bad choice considering their based out of that city.  I would exhaust the wire house firms first, then try the regionals.
