Just looked at the website of Edward Jones recruiting, cut and pasted below. anyone care to tear this apart....

Don't worry, we're used to it. We hear it all the time. But those of you who think that way don't work for Edward Jones. If you did, you'd experience:

Let us give you ALL the details. This site will show you the tremendous advantages of being an Edward Jones Investment Representative and provide honest facts detailing what it takes to be successful. So, take a look around.

Don't worry, we're used to it. We hear it all the time. Everyone bashes us, but we don't care because the GP's make a lot of money.

But those of you who think that way don't work for Edward Jones. If you did, you'd experience:  Don't work for EJ, you work someplace better and you probably use SMAs or Mutual Fund Wrap.  You're too smart for us.

Independence to run your day and your office the way you see fit   We don't tell you who to rip off, you get rip off anyone  you want!
Exceptional operational support.  There's an 800 number that you can call.
Ranked No.1 for 13 consecutive years in Registered Representative magazine's annual survey.  Ranked #1 among investment professionals who currently work for EJ.  Your own branch office and full-time assistant, paid by Edward Jones.  Go find a top notch secretary and we will pay her 20k.  Find a store front next to a subway a few miles from your house and sign a short lease, just in case.
Freedom to run your own branch office; Come and go as you please, you just better sell.
No proprietary products; you decide which investments best suit your clients' needs.  But we decide your payout and we approve which wholesalers can educate you about their products.

Is this a good opportunity? We think so. Because it's a pyramid sceme
