I heard a rumor that A G Edwards was considering an independent channel
like a few others have done.  Anyone have any opinions on this? I
have been at Edwards five years and really like it here and do not want
to see us get sold.  I think it would ruin the culture.

If I were you and Edwards were to offer this program out I'd get in writing that I could go.

Wachovia is loathe to take "Pru" brokers over to the Finet paradigm, but a number of them got it in writing that they could before the door was closed.

There's always murmurs of an opening and there is apparently a midway option(profit formula).

I'm not sure what the beginning of your post has to do with the middle or with the end.

Having been in a shop that was bought and sold semi regularly (Shearson) I would tell you two things. First, it's the people around you that make the culture of the firm as far as you are concerned. Second is get over it, change happens and that's just the way it is. When they bring out the "New And Improved Lemonade" belly up to the bar and start drinking it down... Or go elsewhere, but that's just change too and it too is going to change so the only difference is where you decide to drink the "New And Improved."

I’m in the recruiting busness and I thrive on the truth that the only thing in life that never changes, is that life is always changing.

I don’t understand what AGE opening up an indy channel has to do with you if your happy where you are. Sorry if that is a dumb question.

Everything you wrote is right on point.

I would be surprised if edwards offers an indy channel. I enjoy it just the way it is.
