I miss the turkeys and the wood trophies I received at Jones. I miss the same presentation by the preferreds at every damn regional meeting. I miss the call sessions…“cmon guys, what 3 benefits on BAC can you come up with to make the calls”, first one with 3 will get a Hartford beverage holder…My wife misses the propoganda meetings at the summer regionals…F LPL, I’m coming back to Jones…son of a b…I didn’t think this would ever happen…thanks iceco1d…you’ve brought me out of my stupor…
Okay, now get on the damn phone and get to work Kool aid…I need to see 10k in BAC stock in the next hour…get going…make it pay…make it pay…have the dividend pay to mmkt or put some money in Growth fund and have dividend pay into it at full load…I’ll make you a top producer in no time…
You generally won’t. At least on this board. I’ve had friends move from Jones to MS, UBS, Morgan Keegan, BAC, WB, and indy. Only the ones who moved to MS thought about coming back to Jones. Evidently the rest haven’t come to the realization that Jones is much better than where they went.
foot - because the grass is always greener.
I would venture to guess that anyone leaving any company is going to be happy at the new place most of the time. Even if they aren't they're not going to come back and say, man did I screw the pooch on that one. The MS situation that I referenced above was a strange one. That guy left Jones, went to Morgan to be on a team, got screwed by the head of the team, and came back to Jones. Was that Morgan's fault? Nope. Just a bad team. I get the insinuation foot. I refuse to acknowledge it.

I've heard of people leaving Jones and then coming back, but I can't imagine how that could happen very smoothly. The way I see it, a person leave Jones, takes some/most of their book with them, aggressively extols the virtues of their new firm, Jones fills their office with some poor soul who thinks he'll be rich inside of a year, the former broker later decides he wants to come back to Jones...and goes where? Does he start new/new in a different town? Does he do a Goodnight? How does that work?Hello all,
I've been with Edward Jones since November 09, and am looking to leave and become an Internal Wholesaler. This side of the business is not for me, and in the long run, I'd like to get my CFA, and as an Internal, I would have that opportunity. I will need my licenses for this role.
I was hoping to find out if EDJ will come after me for training costs. I won't be engaged in selling securities or insurance, but will need the licenses to speak with Financial Advisors about the market and investments.
If you have any inside knowledge, please respond to my comment or send me a private message as soon as you can.

When a person leaves Edward Jones and goes to another brokerage firm, that person is going to need the approval of the general partners to come back to the firm. Moreover, the person is not allowed to go back into the previous location to preserve the client relationships of nearby offices. However, the firm has been hostile enough that it may circumvent its own policies to shove a broker out -- especially if it serves their purpose.
