Parden me if I'm the only one who doesn't know this, but have our old friends at Edward Jones started paying out the overtime settlement money to former advisors?  I remember sending in the signature page last summer, but as of yet-- nothing.

I might think, man, this guy is too dumb to know he's getting screwed by the company he works for.  And I'm giving him money?  Not anymore.

Are these the same "people" who already know the Jones model?

I'm sure you'll find some people who you might scare into coming to do biz with you, but those aren't the type of clients who will be loyal to you long term.  I'd rather transfer clients because they want to come work with me because I showed them something of value and they believe I can do what they need, not just because they want away from their last advisor and you happen to be the only guy who is talking to them right now.
