why on earth do you think i'd post here from a work computer?!?!?!  i do have more than 1 computer.  i know most of you think us jones guys aren't capable of multi tasking like that, but i can, hehe.
Be careful!! You signed an affidavait stating you will not be using another computer for internet access in your office.  Violation= Termination.

I am not in my office.

Why on earth would Edward Jones NOT want their brokers to be able to

access outside research??? If nothing else, wouldn’t that free up corporate

bandwidth?

That doesn’t even begin to make a lick of sense!

It does if your trying to keep the CULTURE going.  Why would you want to have your robots infected with the truth?  I was amazed they didn’t block the forum, but maybe its there way of knowing who’s not trully onboard with their propaganda.  I’m sure the upper gp’s get a list of forum readers daily.  That list would be right on top of motor weekly Weddle has delivered to his office.

And the CIA took out JFK.

Elvis lives in Hawaii right now.

Little green men landed in Roswell.

Bush planned 9/11.

We can access any outside research we want.  We already have access to Morningstar & S&P.  If we want to subscribe to some other research site no one is going to stop us. Just like everywhere else, you do have to be careful to make sure you don't give anything to a client that isn't compliance approved.  The rules with the non Jones computer are more a compliance issue than bandwidth.

He is, saw him at the Palms just last night, and then 15 minutes later at Ceasar's, he sure is fast for an old pudgy guy.

Of course it’s compliance mandating it. My question is, “why?”. Many

firms have technology that is internet based for goodness sake. I can

understand the necessity of supervising electronic correspondence, but

most firms’ policies (as far as I can tell) mandate keeping hard copies if

the e-mail doesn’t go through the company server.

Do you think it’s a case of the fact there is no direct supervision at the

branches? (By the way…that’s one of the reasons that Edward Jones

product array is so narrow. Some years ago, regulators were pretty

unhappy with the Jones arrangement, and this was one way for Jones to

continue with their business model.)

Philo

Are you starting to see the light outside Jones?

It seems to me and I may be wrong, that you use to be a kool aid junkie.

Mar 14, 2007 11:47 pm

Me? A “Kool-Aid Junkie”?

I’m sorry to disappoint GB, but you seem to have me confused with some

other smart, good lookin’ guy!
