Does anyone know anything about the new Citibank brokerage comp plan?  BTW, I know they upgraded their systems and it’s very similar to Smith Barney now. Thx.

Wow!, talk about a timely post!

I was just about to post an inquiry about the Citibank Financial Executive

position. Pro’s and con’s of their system (if you hate bank brokerage,

don’t post it here). I’ve done a search on it on this site, but nobody

seems to work there, and if they do, nobody’s posted about it.

I’ve been told by someone fairly high up there that they will be re-

branded, Smith Barney bank channel, and that their systems and products

will be all those available to Smith Barney.

Visigoth, did your informant get that information from the higher upers at Smith Barney or from Citibank? What I don’t get is that Citigroup is the only financial firm that has 2 brokerages, Smith Barney and Citibank Investment Services (CIS). I guess they’re trying to streamline the two by mergering them.

My “informant” is a bigwhig at Citibank Investment Services. Also, I know

that they’ve begun offering Smith Barney’s managed money programs.

Visigoth, when is this rebranding going to happen? Is it something they’re thinking of recently, or has it been in the works for sometime now? cheers.
