Wondering what people thought of the new Charles Schwab "animated" ads on tsv. Seems like there  going after wirehouses and the no load/internet companies. Haven't seen a company do that yet. I don't know anything about them really,  but have heard there sales force is strictly salaried? Anyways, just wondering what people's thoughts on the commercials were.

I haven’t seen the ads that you’re talking about, but there is one thing I’ve learned in my years in our business, namely knowing what you’re doing, and conveying an honest concern for your clients trumps any and all glitzy commercials.

Exactly.  Everyone with a pulse still remembers the old Merrill commercials and associates them with the bull.  I saw a new one a few months back and was happy to see it.

I think the Schwab ads are pretty catchy. They get your attention, and deliver a basic message.

Schwab was my first job out of college.  I learned how to place all kinds of trades.  Other than that nothing else.  No sales training what so ever.  They just wait for clients to pick up the phone and call them.  Not to much to worry about unless your a discount brokerage firm.  They cant decide what type of brokerage firm they want to be.  They change there minds all the time
