Just to be clear, I think all  the electronic platforms are a joke, bondtrac, muni center, etc.  I don’t know how Indy’s get bond business done unless you are actually have your own inventory to work.  I believe Wachovia’s Indy side has access to the WB inventory, not just the overpriced stuff on bonndesk.  There is no substitute for real traders and relationships.  That is the  only way to get fair executions for you clients…Most firms give their brokers a much better price then  they show on the platforms.
We have traders too, you idiot.

You would be surprised how many times I end up with trades coming back with price improvement.

Careful Joe, he sells more bonds in two weeks than most sell in a career.  Seems like he would have run across a trade with a price improvement if that were true though...

You're right Primo.  Thanks for setting me straight!       Glad I could help, you must be careful when dealing with internet superstars.

When did I say that WB doesnt have traders you idiot…I know WB has traders, in fact I  have talked to many of them, they have lots of traders spread across the country.  The reason you get price improvements on some trades is that you are buying a street offering which gets routed to a trader instead of auto executing.  Often the trader will see matchers offered on “Pick” and can get you a better price. Not a good price, just a better price.  Bond one just showed AGE’s inventory,  so you didn’t get the overpriced street crap.  That is why you didn’t see price improvements on executions…Like I  said before, test the system, send in a bid wanted on a cusip that is offered on BD see how much liquidity you have.
