I wanted to piggyback off of Volt’s thread about EDJ stuffing Ted Jones down their advisors throats with a related thread on Ameriprise.  I know there are few Amp advisors that post on this site, but have any of you guys checked out the front page of Compass in the past month or so and seen some of the articles called “Got it Done”?  Basically stories highlighting advisors and them giving their testimonials on how they have recently “Got it Done” with acquiring new clients.  The two stories they have posted for all to see in the past month are comical.  One of them is a story about a CFP who’s been with Ameriprise for 25 years and how he’s acquired a whole EIGHT clients this year, with three of them being from a recent seminar w/a Riversource wholesaler.  Then we get his story on how he leveraged all his relationships to “Get it Done” in the client acquisition departement.  Really, we’re celebrating a CFP with a few decades of experience with his ability to get less than 1 client per month?  The other one is a girl w/3 years of experience who has managed to acquire a whole SEVEN clients this year.  It also gives her stats.  “3 years experience.  $3,600,000 client assets under management.”  These are the stories they are putting at the front of our advisor website as motivation for us to go “Get it Done”?  This is the corniest piece of propaganda this company has put out in a long time, and that’s saying something.
