I know this program is been around for a while, but do any of you actually use it? I just finished setting up the program this morning and what you're seeing on screen was spoken and not typed into my computer. What a slick, time-saving system!

Best yet, it's not an expensive program. I think I paid about $40 at OfficeMax a couple months back and am now kicking myself for not installing it sooner. The accuracy is incredible and it's very easy to use. Besides trying it out here, I've used it to reply to e-mails and dictate letters in Word. I can't imagine how many times over this program will pay for itself in just this year. Other applications I have thought of already, are post review writeups for client files. I'm sure as I use this program more, I'll think of many more applications for it. For anyone in this business or looking to begin a career in this business, I'm now listing this program as a must-have.

Set it up next to your bed tonight, and see if you talk in your sleep.

I don't need that...my wife already tells me I talk in my sleep. From the conversation she recounted one morning, I was apparently trying to sell one of my daughter's teachers an annuity in my sleep. ;-)

This thing is amazing... I hardly even touch my keyboard anymore.

How is the formating - like will it make paragraphs, etc.?

Do you have to speak slowly?  Or can it dictate in a normal speaking voice and tempo?

Formatting is fine. It has no problem accepting commands like "new paragraph" and "period". I can talk at normal tempo, and even fast if I choose to. Occasionally it will misunderstand me and put something funny or unusual on the screen but it's easily corrected by using the "strike that" command. It's certainly a lot faster than me typing things out and it can only get faster as I get better at quickly expressing my thoughts. I can even say things like "wink face"and it inserts emoticons automatically. I can't say enough about it...it's just incredible. :-)

$40?? Is it the essentials version or a couple years old???

I thought it was around 200 bucks...

I tried these about 8 years ago and they sucked.  I am sure they are alot better now.
