Hello everyone,

I have been reading through these forums for months and have received a ton of useful information from you guys so I know you will steer me in the right direction. I will try to keep my question brief.

I am currently a Licensed Banker with a bank in Chicago. I've been doing this for 10 years and have been licensed for 6. While I am grateful to God for having a job, I absolutely HATE what I do. I'm tired of "creating" a need for someone to signup for frivilous bank products. I also need the flexibility to make my own schedule due to various family obligations. I have been approached by a few companies and have interviewed with most of them (Waddell, EJ, Great-West Retirement Services, VALIC). I have no desire to build a book of business to follow me, nor do I have the time desire to cold call and door knock for months. I like what Great-West and VALIC do because both positions focus on the Chicago Public School system which I am very familiar with. Here are the details of Great-West:

GREAT-WEST

Base Salary of $45k - $50k with 15% annual performance bonus

Full tech support i.e. laptop, fax machine, Blackberry

Mileage Reimbursement

no local office. Direct manager is in Colorado.

the bad: The salary and bonus is all you make!

So who knows about VALIC...from personal or 3rd party experience? Do they seem to be good based on what I am looking for? I am interviewing with them soon and want to know what to expect or what questions to ask.

Thanks!
