With a few exceptions, these replies have nothing to do with the original question of this forum, which was about UBS interview and culture.

It's time start a new thread with a new topic.

Fumbling finger hitting the post button too soon.

Thanks everyone for responding to my thread, especially San Fran Broker and TJC45.  Your replies are very welcome and helpful.  I definitely can use an idea or two from your postings.

Big Easy Flood's postings are most unhelpful and also unresponsive to my thread's original question.  Stop rambling, Big Easy, or start a new thread and hope people reply to your rambles.

I've talked to a AG Edwards FA and he said pretty much the same thing.  I plan to target business owners, and "elite" professionals like doctors and lawyers.  This is my natural market b/c of my family and my own connections.

Thanks everyone,

ChicagoBroker.

Big Easy is heading for the airport–then to Provence where he is going to kill a month.

I'll be back to debate this some more, but it's going to be a day or so with time changes and a drive to Annecy.

Your arrogance, cycnicism, and close-minded stupidity are stunning!  Then again what else should we expect from a career middle manager from a wirehouse brokerage?

Believe what you will.  I was not a star, but neither was I at the bottom of the barrel, either.  Most likely my business would have been better if I'd not been so miserable there, or been able to remain sufficiently focused to overcome my dissatisfaction.  Either way, I'm not going to claim that I was knocking the cover off the ball either then or now.  But I am considerably happier.

To lost a modest percentage of my book was a miniscule price to pay to escape that hellhole and be truly free.

When I read your posts, it merely reminds me of why I'm happy to be indy.  Frankly I've found the folks in management at LPL to be considerably more motivated, intelligent, and courteous than the wirehouse counterparts.  The back office folks are WAY better.

Enjoy France.  You should fit in well with those arrogant paintywaist *&#$'s.  I bet they really like you.  Have you considered staying?
