ive dominated tests 1-7 with 90% and better and have gotten around high 60’s for 8 and on and having a good amount of difficulty on those.    its hard to know where im at when im doing so well on the early ones and not so well on the later ones…would i be able to pass the exam right now?

You are starting to memorize the test questions.

Are you doing each test in numerical order and making sure not to repeat a test until you have completed all of the others?

If this is not the case and you are taking certain tests more often than others, you are memorizing the test questions.

The exams suppose to get harder as you go up. Exam 1 being the easiest and exam 13 being the hardest. Exam 13 is similar to the actual Series 7. Its no surprise you're getting 60's on practice exam 8 and up. Don't worry, just keep taking the exams but DON'T MEMORIZE THE ANSWERS. Take your time when you go over the ones you got wrong. Good luck.

and No…you’re not ready. You must do ALL 13 exams and get 80’s or higher.

I have friend who took an STC class and his teacher told him test 12 & 13 are much more difficult than the zctual test. Any validity to this?

In my case I am scoring in the mid 80s on tests 1-11. Also scoring high 80s on all of the online Diagnosic exams, whic is a cross section of all 13 exams. I took test 12 for the first time and got a 60. Doesnt make sense.

Look Man,

Make up a long table with all the basic option plays, about 16, with the Max's and know that by heart.  Since 50 to 60 of the questions are options, it will take you 15 seconds on each option question.  Make sure you draw the table after you start the test, along with all the other stuff. I'd also advise taking the 5 day class with Dearborne

Yeah Man.  I could only score like in the low 80's on all of that crap and I made like a 93 on the test.  Go figure

We use the Pass Perfect system and I found the difficulty level to be very similiar to the tests.  If you can score 75% on the Pass Perfect medium difficulty tests, you should be able to pass the actual exam.  Don't take the tests until you are sure!!!!!  Why put yourself thru all that only to fail.

good luck.

I can provide some validity to your thoughts.  I just took the S7 the other day.  I went throught the Fire Solutions material in 5 weeks and took 1 week to practice tests.  I also used STC, but only for their extra exams.  I scored 75-85% on the Fire solution tests and the STC test 1-8. I skipped over to STC tests 10-13 and scored 60's also.  I called our Soutions guy and he said forget about those lasts test and those scores b/c it's not needed so I stoped doing them.  After passing the actual test I know the questions won't get hard as STC's.  STC's tests are too detailed and are way too much than needed.  One 125 section of the test will be easy and straight foward.  The second 125 section will have a bunch of question in the middle that require you to think a little, but are not that tricky or as detailed as STC tests 10-13.  If you scored in the 80's on their indicator than you will score +/- 3% from that score on the actual.  If you get the harder section first, don't worry the second one will be a breeze and and if you get the easy one first, then be prepared for the second and don't freak out.

Has anyone else not like Fire Solutions?  I am using it currently and feel it isn’t the best system out there.  I also just ordered the STC classroom and their finals.  With all that I should be able to breeze through the 7, right?

Depends on the effort you put into it as well.

for the series 7, Fire Solutions will get the job done, just study your ass off!  They give you all the important details, STC does the same but more info. than needed.  Stick to one and maybe use some extra tests from the other.  You will do fine.
