I just took the series 7 today after having the study materials for 5 weeks and unfortunately failed the exam. I have been told the STC practice exams are the way to go so I want to get my hands on those ASAP. Does anybody know where I can get those copies? I went to the STC site and I have to buy it in a set with another study manual for almost $500. Anybody have any tips?

It's $500 but it works. I once was a registered and i took the week long STC cram course. I passed the 7 with flying colors. I didn't think the Series 7 was particularly relevant to what financial advisors actually do day to day. This was 12 years ago; FINRA might have tweaked it to make it more useful since then. Is it useful now?

I have the Kaplan materials. I took the test and failed it because I didnt have the practice exams. A lot of the exam questions had nothing that really applies to what me and the rep I work with do on a day to day basis. But I need the practice exams because I have to pass this time around. Dont really want to spend 500$ out of pocket on the exams but cant seem to find any other resources online for prep exams that are solid.

It's true. There is too much stuff to study. The way I studied was just doing practice exams and looking up the answers in the answer key. If I didn't get it, I would open a text book for more. But, yes, just take the practice exams until you begin passing them.
