Anybody have some insight as to what typical starting salary is for reps at these firms these days.  I'm coming back to the retail end of the business after many years on the institutional side.  I have meetings set up w/ MSSB, UBS and ML.  The managers seemed pretty interested in me and I'm pretty confident I can bring in some decent biz.  That said, if I can get some protection from a decent base salary during the build up phase, that would be nice.  I dont want to ask too high and miss an opportunity while at the same time, I dont want to take 50k if I can get 75.  Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Wells is 45k but it is listed that they only pay out 75% of salary and I am not sure what that means.  If someone else could elaborate that would be great.  Declines over 2 years.

Merrill has 50k and 75k salary options with higher hurdles for 75k.   3 years.

They are all highly motivated to hire people, especially those with experience.

Good luck.
