I just passed my Insurance Exam yesterday and next in line is my Series 7.  I know that most people think the Insurance test is a breeze.... I did not feel that way.  Although I passed on the first try, I didn't finish feeling confident that I had passed, in fact when I learned that I had, I was shocked.  That said, I need a new study strategy for the 7.  I used Kaplan for my Insurance Exam.  What I liked the most was that I could download and print the manual and pick out chapters to highlight/annotate as I watched the kind-of corresponding videos (they didn't match perfectly, there was some topics that were address by one and not the other but it was close)  I found the test questions were similar to the questions on the test, except worded slightly more simple than the actual exam.  What I didn't like was the quality of the video lectures.  I feel like the instructors were pretty much just reading their power points (which were split screen with lectures).  I need something with more stories and life application examples that will help me remember and understand the concepts.

My Dad took his in 2011 and has a CD set from "Pass the 7", I am going to check that out but he has no exam manual.  I have to hear it AND read it, so I'll consider buying that.  But I would also like some suggestions.  I am reading all of these comments about exactly this, but I know we all study differently so I am not only looking for what worked best for YOU, but also feedback on the creative/visual/anecdotal tactics those programs used or lacked.

I’ve read up and down backwards and forwards on this site and TC seemed to be the real winner. Also, I know many coworkers who have used TC and been successful. I used TC myself and got an 89. I would recommend it. The textbook and online exams are great with TC.

I know I am a little late to answer but do NOT use a cd from 2011 they changed the test drastically in 2012 also stick with the main vendors Passperfect,Kaplan,STC,TC and securites institute of america.
stay away from anyone other than those, the rest are all weak and will not help…
