The firm is called Nation Securities LLC.

I googled this and nothing came up. Is the name correct?

I'm going to do you a favor here and tell you the truth.  Working as a stock broker at 18 in some pump and dump firm won't cut it.  What happens in 2 years when you leave and you can't get hired because you don't have a college degree?  Get that piece of paper.

Go to college.  Screw hot college girls, drink beer, do drugs, party and learn a bit about life.  Then come out of college and get a sales job and do well.  THEN come into this business and you will be ready.

When you come into this business, after college, start screwing hot college girls, again, and never stop. That's what they're there for.
Hi guys, recently I've been offered a stockbroker job at a intermediate sized firm. However if i take this position now that means i would not be able to go to college, I'm currently a senior in HighSchool and will be graduating in a few days. Do you guys think i should go to college or is this opportunity a better one? does being a stockbroker give you a large opportunity to earn a lot of money? Thanks !
If you give up Syracuse, to do this, you are an idiot.

You got some good advice on this board, notwithstanding the dick trolls, and you should take it. I hire people to come into this business, with a major firm. I dont like to hire people WITH a college degree, right out of school, I would NEVER HIRE a high school graduate. It wouldnt be fair to them, not just my firm. You would clearly fail.

Go to school, have fun, get a degree, then get a sales job in another field, and network your ass off. When you have 3-5 years experience, and a rolodex of relationships you can tap into, then call a hiring manager at one of the major firms, and you'll learn how to make a lot of money and still have fun.
national securities*, Dust bunny that is what i thought when i first got offered to the job. The only thing that makes me want to do it is because the people there around all around 18,19. They all have nice cars and wallets stacked.  The only thing is a lot of them went to crappy colleges so they can risk not going to college, the thing im afraid of is because i have a decent university to go to (syracuse university) and in order to do this i would have to take college off.
Better yet, read Born to Steal: When the Mafia Hit Wall Street by Gary Weiss.  Your friends are boiler room punks.  If you want to end up in prison, follow them.

Taking a job right out of high school does not preclude you from getting a degree.

Is there something that is so extraordinary about you to the extent that they'd rather hire you than someone with a college degree and a track record of great success?  If not, you are being used in a big way.

A short, fat man with a two-inch, Chap Stick dispenser sized dick knows all about pleasing college-age girls. This proves that Bobby is a sociopath, and I must conclude that he is to be pitied. Good luck, Bobby Hull.
The firm is called Nation Securities LLC. Yes im willing to work 65-75 hrs , i am very hard working. I believe i can sell, and i love working off commission instead of a fixed income. The only thing Im wondering is if this opportunity as a broker is better than my opportunity of going to college. In my lifetime im hoping to make at least 600grand a year, and im wondering if being a broker at this young age will give me the opportunity to do that by age 28-30. And yes they are paying a salary for my training. I will open 20 accoutns for the guy who hires me ( getting paid 55 dollars per account), after 20 accounts I will be on my own. Thanks for the comments everyone i appreciate it a lot.

P.S.  Cant you lie and say your like 35 years old when your on the phone?( from boiler room )

Straight up bro if you take this punkass job instead of going to college  you’re one sad fool!

Joe, I’m hoping that this is just someone having fun with us…it’s hard to believe boiler rooms like this still exist…

One keeps hoping, but they keep cropping up.

Now that the mortgage business has blown up, we may see some of these clowns getting back into securities.

Please go to college.  Do not go right into this business without the degree.  You may as well get on a small boat that has a huge hole without a life preserver if you do not go to college in this day and age.  I did not make the rules, just trying to live in them.

I didn't know that people over the age of 15 used the word "screwing". Hmm

Hm so i’ve been thinking, Is it a good idea if i take 1 year off and test out the broker job? Worst comes to worst i waste 1 year. The firm is called National securities, i dont think its a boiler room, www.nationalsecurities.com . If its bad i can always reapply for college. thanx

Jun 7, 2007 10:10 pm

Worst comes to worst you'll waste a year and go into deep debt.

Don't you realize that there is a problem with the firm if they are willing to take you.

You won't be an employee of National Securities.  They are an independent broker/dealer.  You'll be a contracter and not an employee.  However, I can't imagine that they would even take you on as a contracter.

It sounds like the person hiring you is taking you on as his employee...and he's hosing you by paying you $55 per account.

Come to think of it, the best case scenario with this is that you take a year off and go into debt.
