Reading the posts on this forum has inspired me to do my own 30 day war. I’m hoping posting this on the site will keep me honest and motivated.

A short background about myself:   14 Months in production. Legacy Smith Barney, now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Very little cold calling experience, did it for a short while when I began in production. On track so far to meet goals and expectations, just need to refill the pipeline.    Goal = 30-40 cold contacts a day thru calling businesses during the day, residents after hours. No specific appointment goals, just cold contact activity.   The war starts tomorrow!   Results to follow....

Keep us posted and good luck!

BTW: Windy has already beat you, sorry.

When you’re getting started you’re limited in the amount of control you have over your production in any given month but what you can control is the activity.

Activity breeds results.

Volt, look what you started. Instead of “I’m looking forward to the Jones opportunity…I hate Jones” threads, we are going to get “I’m gonna make a million dollars this month!..Nevermind I suck” threads.

Update midday.

40 dials, 11 contacts, 2 appointments, 3 more scheduled callbacks to discuss further... Will keep posted.

For a wirehouse that seems low(in terms of dials, though having never worked at one, I am just assuming). Let us know how it turns out. Either way 2 appts in a day especialy by lunch is a good day.

94 Dials, 31 contacts, 2 appointments, 5 scheduled followup calls (potential appointments), and many new prospects to drip on.

As far as my dials, this is my first real attempt at cold calling. No one else doing it in my office so its hard to get motivated about doing it. I can see how cold calling can work, but by gosh its a f**king grind. Gotta make sure this is part of my daily routine. Hopefully tomorrow I can get in over 100 dials.

Not really. A 100 dials and only 2 apts? That blows. They’ll probably cancel on you. For every 25 apts set through cold calling, your only going to keep 10. You should have at least five appointments for a 100 dials. But it is your first day so you probaly suck on the phone. Taking that into consideration, pretty good!

Looking forward to todays update. This has me back on the phone this afternoon and evening.

Is 100 dials per day a good number? I would assume you're on the phones for 10 hours per day. 10dials per hour?

Are you pushing one stock, bond, or mutual fund? Or just setting appointments/sending mailers?

I'm a newb so ignore me if I sound ignorant. Just trying to get some info. But the 31/94 contacts sounds good. I just would assume that you'd be netting higher dials per day.

I began making 120 calls a day. It didn’t get the job done and now I make 180 a day minimum! My goal is 15 contacts and 5 appointments. I also make 15 warm calls a day, and 5 client calls. It is all about having confidence and being direct. The posts on this sight have been a great help!
