so if i have outside investments, will ML have me move them to ML or can I keep them where they are now?

You can do whatever you want. You just have to be ready to be terminated. Then you can move to MSSB and do it all over again.

This is just too good to pass up.   And you honestly want to manage other people's money?  Just lie and tell ML whatever you want.   How would one of the largest firms in one of the most highly regulated industries ever find out?    I suppose you plan on selling prospects on the principles of integrity and honesty, huh?  Like I said, don't ask any stupid questions and you might make it through the first week.  Wait...too late.

BTW, don't ever log onto this site from your work pc.  If they find out that you posted this ridiculous nonsense, you are a gone a$$ for sure.

my main concern is does merrill lynch require you to move your investments to them ?

Yes and any other accounts you have trading rights to.

Silly question. Magic markers are the obvious choice.

thanks. last question, if i say i do not have accounts elsewhere, ...will they say okay and do nothing, or will they be able to run my name and Social security number and see that i have accounts elsewhere.

They will know. Then not only would you get fired, but likely they would put a mark on your U-4 about dishonest trading which would likely keep you from ever getting a job in the industry again.
Just disclose it, move it (once it will count towards your assets), and move on.
