Once one gets through the interviews.. Once all paperwork is submitted to firm..

When does one get authority to take series 7 exam?

I suspect it depends on how fast the firm processes paperwork, but I am curious of your experiences?

Once one gets that authority I hear there is typically a two week backlog at the testing centers?

Can one set test date before approval?

I filled out all the paper work and ordered the books.

The next week I scheduled the test date which was just over a month away.

I guess it depends on where you are.  I am by Chicago/Milwaukee area.

One of the major firms gives you 10 weeks to prepare for the 7.

Yeah I know they give you a ton of time, but I turned in paperwork 3 weeks ago and firm says still processing?

So I am anxious to test!
