I am leaving EJ and switching to another firm that requires that I pass the 65.  I have my 7 and 63 and curious how the 65 compares.  Thanks for your help.

your firm should only require the 66…if you have your 7, the 66 will give you the exact same license and it is MUCH easier thant he 65…you should definitely ask about this option.

If you already have your 63, though, then only the 65 is required.

Nope...you have it slightly wrong...by inserting the word "only".

Rule:

If you have Series 7 & 63, you can take Series 66 and it will be the same license as having Series 65.

If you don't have Series 7, regardless of whether or not you have your 63, you MUST take Series 65 (longer & more difficult).

Study for and pass the 65. Should you ever decide to become an RIA, you

can let you 7 go. One less thing to worry about at that time.

Just my $.02…

Not sure about everywhere else but here in NV if you already have the 7 & 63 you HAVE to take the 65, no option to take the 66.

Right, ExPropTrader.

That's why I said what I did -- only the 65 is required if you already have the 63.

[/quote] You are 100% correct but since the 66 is supposed to be easier alot of people that have the 63 but need the 65 elect to take the 66 instead of the 65 . . .  in Nevada we aren't allowed to do that though.

82Cardinals -

Can I ask why you are leaving EJ?  I have been interviewing and have my final interview next week.  Your insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.
