Based on the responses, it seems the people here don’t think I got the job.
That being said, I’m a bit confused on some of your responses.
How did you get a call back offering you a job after 30 minutes or so when you hadn’t even done the surveys or the face to face interview yet? Are you sure you weren’t thinking of your f2f interview?
I’ve read on the forums here and at indeed.com and it seems that quite a number of people DO have to wait a few days to hear back before going to the next step, so I’m not worried yet.

Maybe they changed the process. This was the old days before Jim Weddle.

You are right... it is too soon for Ed to make you an offer. I went through their process last fall and, although I did not accept it, the offer came 2 days after the final face-to-face interview (not to be confused with the office visit, which comes first). You have nothing to worry about at this point.Got a call today - we are moving forward in the hiring process.
Turns out it really WAS a comprehensive review.
Now I have to wait for the results of the background check to come in.
