I am doing the door knocking surveys to prepare for my face to face interview.  I was curious how many doors it took, and how long, for you other new EDJ'rs to get 15 coompleted surveys.

It wasn’t a lot. Maybe 2-2.5 hours and somewhere in the range of 40 houses (a lot won’t come to the door - VERY few declined to be surveyed and all were nice when I went). I said my company is considering building an office in town and we’re trying to determine where, so we need to know people’s shopping / driving habits.

Just tell them you're not selling anything or there to save their souls, and you'll do fine.

I did 20 surveys on 35 houses with 1 decline in an hour and a half. My numbers were slanted because I went on a Sunday afternoon when I knew people would be home. I picked a neighborhood of starter homes that were close together. It was a breeze.

It took me an afternoon.  After I was done I was having such a good time I went to businesses the next morning and did 15 there too.  They like it when you exceed expectations.  Shows initiative and drive.
