Good points, Joe. Most certainly you are correct. It just seems that one point that the "full service" wirehouses push is the depth of their products. I have seen several posts here knocking the "middle class proprietary mix" offered by one of the firms.

I wonder...are the fees that much higher at wirehouses like SB to discourage smaller investors than EJ? I know the SB BM kind of hinted that I should not target lower net worth (LNW?) and smaller accounts. It probably involves higher costs of maintaining smaller accounts and lower payouts for the time effort. I would like to be able to sell to smaller clients as well...why turn away a small fish that can grow over the years?
