Assuming full-time benefits don’t matter (such as vacation, sick leave,
insurance), what are the advantages/disadvantages of working as a
contractor for an Independent Financial Advisor firm rather than an
"employee"?



Also, if you were to bring in hundreds of clients over a year or two
period, and then they say, “sorry, you didn’t do well this month, you
have to go”, can you take your clients with you to another firm?

Flexibility, no micromanagement (unless it's Ameriprise), higher payout, the list goes on and on.
