I have seen a number of threads and posts about cold calling business owners. are people cold calling the businesses and pitching muni bonds or going after the retirement plan. i am sure both but i like the idea of muni bonds (something i am familiar with). it just seems awkward to call "ABC Mfg" @ 8am and pitch bonds..... am i right on that or just timid?

also i see a lot of people suggest corporate directories.

2: do you run into issues calling a corporation (HR must get pissed)

Not sure what Roogle is?  I have used ReferenceUSA in the past.  Local library will let you utilize it if you have a membership.

Let me know what you decide to pitch.  I've done Muni's with success, but am concerned about rising rates (end of QE2 among many things) and have a hard time selling a 4.5% 2030 bond trading at 105, knowing that in a year or two, I MAY (yes I know its an unknown) get the chance to buy that same bond at 90 with a YTM of over 6%.  Specifically to Bondguy, does that concern you (especially for clients who have been used to their bonds rising for the last 20 years)?

Also, a question for BondGuy, you sell 100k of a  2030 bond at 2 points = fantastic day. But those assets are Nonproducing for the next 20 years.... assuming you hold to maturity. Thoughts?

Roogle is essentially "Search for it"... The topic you are brining up has been brought up time and time again, with great answers. Sadly most of the people who gave that advice moved on once RR messed up this forum..

However there are still tons of great threads on here: 500 day war by judge... anything by bond guy, etc.. use the search function.
