I am about to make a career transition from Medical Sales to Financial Advisor.  Has anyone here made that transition or know of someone who has?  It is a big decision but, I have been contemplating it for the last few years.  I will be taking a big cut in income initially but, feel that this will serve as additional motivation to hit the ground running.  I have offers from MS, ML, SSB, UBS and EJ, which are the only firms that I interviewed with.  Which one of these firms have the best training program? Which of these firms also gives the proper support and direction that a new FA needs to truly succeed?

We just had an FA in our region that had a 25 million AUM office after about 3-4 years leave to go back to pharm sales.  I didn’t get to talk to him but he had built up at least a good start.  He must have felt there was more to be offered at his old profession (or gotten a better offer). Not a criticism either way, just an example I’ve heard of of someone not liking the transition to the financial world.

Thanks for the input?  I assume you are with EJ, how was your training?
