After years with AFLAC, last June I joined a major insurance company and because they sell variable products, I went out and earned my Series 6 and 63.  But I'm finding that the company isn't a great fit so I'm thinking of a variation of what I did before: prospecting business owners to let me stage a group meeting with their employees.  But rather than offer AFLAC's small-premium Supplementary Benefits, I'd like to help these financially unsophisticated working people actually do some Retirement Planning.   Virtually none will have pensions or a 401K and don't know the first thing about saving or investing for the future.

I can see involving those interested for between $100 and $300 per month into a Roth IRA but can I make a living doing this?   (There are products out there that bundle a life policy with a Roth --- the agent makes commission only on the insurance but I'm not sure about this being the best fit for me.)

Thoughts?   Many thanks for the advice and counsel.

Sit down and do the math. You're talking about bringing in people who are starting with 0$ and adding 3600/year... how long do you think it will take for you to actually have enough AUM to make any decent amount of money on ? Hint: you'll starve first.
