What is generally looked for in a business plan?  I would expect to include types of individuals I plan to prospect, possible contacts, how I plan to market myself, and how I will approach people.

Any advice?  Anyone happen to have a sample plan?  I wouldn't copy from it but it would give me a general idea.

I feel like I already know this but not certain of what I'm doing.

What are you trying to accomplish with your plan, James?  If it's to get a job, just say what they want to hear.

If, on the other hand, you're trying to write the gospel according to James that is your plan to be successful, get a copy of The Definitive Business Plan by Richard Stutely (second edition).

I thought I was pretty good at putting it all together.  Then I read this book.  It blew way past all that I thought I knew.  It's a little on the pricey side, but in my opinion worth the read.

Technically, I already landed the job.  I think it would be somewhere in between the two scenarios you mentioned but I'll check out that book anyway.
