I have been asked by two wirehouses MS and ML to provide a business plan.  MS provided a template, however ML did not.  Any advice from anyone that has completed the ML business plan with success, ie.  what are they looking for etc., format etc.?   I will have to present to the Regional MD.

Thanks,

I know this topic has been thoroughly talked about in the past.  Have you done a search yet?

In 60 words or less:  You need to illustrate what activities you will do, every day, and how those activities will drive revenue.  Don’t highlight production or asset goals - they’re irrelavant and you cannot control them.  All you can control is what you do each and every day.  You need to sell your ability to bring in accounts and drive revenue!

I couldn’t find the answer to this on any previous threads, so would you all please give me your opinion on this?

I'm doing my business plan for ML.  On the cover page, would it be appropriate to put the ML logo?  Something like this:   ML Logo   My Name   FA Business Plan
Date
I can't decide if they would be offended that I used their logo without being a part of their company yet, or if it would add to the professionalism of the business plan.  Any thoughts?

They won’t care about what your cover page looks like.  They want to know the “meat and potatoes” . . . how are you going to set appointments, open accounts, and bring in assets.  If you can’t show how you are going to do those things, nothing else will matter.
