I am with an RIA and we don't do insurance/estate plans/taxes/etc. A few other team members and I visited another firm that provides these services as we are looking for someone to refer clients to that are in need of this. He said that if our clients needed an insurance product or something like that the could "rep" it.

Does this mean that he will sell them the insurance but make it look like I am the one selling it? I would like it to appear like I am the one providing all the services.

How do other RIA's that don't sell insurnace or do estate stuff handle this, and what do you try to avoid?
