they do.

As part of our commitment to providing quality service to its clients, First Clearing, LLC provides the benefit of a firm with a long heritage in the full-service brokerage business and the strength of Wachovia, the sixth-largest bank holding company in America.

Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, First Clearing, LLC (FCC) provides quality securities-execution and brokerage-clearance services to Wachovia Bank, Wachovia Securities, Wachovia Financial Network, and retail securities firms throughout the United States. First Clearing, LLC is also a member of the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and other major exchanges

I worked for First Clearing years ago. They used to be Wheat First Securities, then became Wheat First Union, then became First Clearing Corp, then I quit. I always assumed they became Wachovia Securities after I left, but I guess they kept the First Clearing name , but I know they got bought out by Wachovia, so I’m guessing they’ve integrated their technologies.

i just helped a firm leave First Clearing and helping another advisor leave FiNet (owned by Wachovia).  First Clearing works only with BDs.  They have nothing to do with Wachovia.  I found the hard way that the two systems do not speak to each other.  As a matter a fact they are competitors.  If you are a BD and looking at First Clearing without all the banking products from Wachovia, First Clearing.  If you are an advisor that wants credit cards that work with brokerage, forget First Clearing!!  If you need more help figuring this out, send me an email.

First Clearing is a good platform for BDs only.  They do not work for individual advisors.  I have helped a large advisory firm leave them mainly because the BD did not talk to the banking side.  It was a mess. If you need help, send me an email.

Sorry for posting the same answer twice.

Sportsfreakbob:

That is not an easy question.  It can be difficult to figure out the best avenue.  It takes a good understanding of your business, products, and clients to see which one fits.  If you want to give me a call we can discuss, but the list is long.
