What is included on a purchased prospect list of businesses? Does it say name of person in charge or just the business and phone number? The reason I'm asking is my business partner wants to buy a prospect list but I would prefer to use those funds from the list towards advertising. I can create my own prospect list by doing my own mining. Any feedback? Thank you. MSSB New Hire.
IMHO, advertising is a waste of money. People already know your brand name, cold call them and talk. Don't buy an add in the paper and think your phone will ring.

To answer your question, you can make your own lists, via things like reference USA and call business owners or buy a list and that will yield many more opportunities than some ad in the paper, senior publication, or chamber newsletter. You already have brand name recognition, just pick up the phone and start calling. Or do a seminar or something. Putting your mug in the paper wont do jack.
