Stan is right on the money with where I was going to go.  You can always hang up on a cold call.  Slamming the door in someone's face is a little different.

That said, there is a niche for it which is proven by the fact that you have gathered clients and assets in doing so.  Best of luck.

I started door to door last month.

$2 mil in assets in one month. lucky beginning?

Everyone seems to say the same thing:

Joe guy behind the door; "We have a broker."

Me: "Great that is why I want to talk to someone like you. Have they

talked to you about your portfolio since the fed has raised interest rates

for the ninth consecutive time? yes/no What is your strategy for this

rising interest rate environment?"

nothing works with everyone. knock walk knock have fun.

Duke, you have to get some clients and learn the business. There is no silver bullet - you need leads, and the ability to have multiple phone conversations which result in appointments. Leads can be generated in a number of ways, and they give you permission to keep a conversation running over time. After you get some clients, give them 110%. Referrals are the ONLY way to go after you get started. Good luck!

Are you saying you started door-to-door last month and gathered 2mil in additional assets through door-to-door within that month?  If so, where are you located?

Bull- that sounds like a great start… I cant imagine a firm out there that wouldnt be creaming their pants when a rook starts off like that… Was that 2MM from 1 or 2 accounts? If so you landed a few whales… I’d be interested to know a general breakdown.

So would I.  That sounds like great success.

I've been walking door to door for a couple of years now, after trying every other method under the sun.

In the last month, I've walked in two home offices of public companies and obtained two audiences with buyers for what I'm selling. Because I was curious, I asked how many other salespeople had walked in. They both laughed and said something along the lines of "Nobody is willing to work that hard anymore."

Oh, and I closed both accounts. Yay.

There are no laws prohibiting solicitation of businesses at their office. There never will be, either.
