Thoughts…

-Broncos still won't win the division and there are 15 QBs better than Kyle Orton -Lions aren't even near the bottom of the league- Browns, Bills, Bucs, Panthers, Raiders, Rams all much worse - Miles Austin and Ahmad Bradshaw will never have games like that again, EVER - In 2 years nobody will be running the "Wildcat" , it is a fad less productive then the run and shoot - 2 teams or more will start 0-10 - Throwback jerseys are overused, have every team do it one week and thats it!!! - Cris Collinsworth is solid on SNF, John Gruden needs to go back and be the jock strap washer for his boyfriend favre

-Broncos still won't win the division and there are 15 QBs better than Kyle Orton   I believe in the system.  The playbook puts the quarterback in a position to succeed.  Orton's never gonna be forced to thread the needle or rely on his deep ball to get yards. All he's gotta do is hit Marshall on the quick slant and let him get his yards after the catch, or hit Royal on the 10 yard curl, and let him get yards after the catch.  Tom Brady was a 6th round pick for a reason, and Matt Cassel went from not playing since high school to becoming a $40 million man overnight by adhering to the system.  I'm convinced thats why McDaniels was looking at Cassel and Orton to bring to Denver.  Cutler has a cannon and is known as a "gunslinger", where guys like Brady and Cassel and Orton can be taught how to trust the system and can "manage the game."   -Lions aren't even near the bottom of the league- Browns, Bills, Bucs, Panthers, Raiders, Rams all much worse   Yep.  Lions are playing good teams.  They are probably in the mid-20's in terms of team rank.    - Miles Austin and Ahmad Bradshaw will never have games like that again, EVER   Yep.   - In 2 years nobody will be running the "Wildcat" , it is a fad less productive then the run and shoot   Yep.  There's a reason the option works in college and not the pros.  Its just been so long since someone tried it in the pros that there hasn't been enough time to create a defense to stop it.   - 2 teams or more will start 0-10   Nah, too much parody.  The Chiefs will beat the Skins this weekend.  Maybe the Rams will start 0-10.  Actually I think the Rams could go 0-16.  All I know is if the Oakland Raiders and that gang of deadbeats can get a win so early in the season, anyone can.   - Throwback jerseys are overused, have every team do it one week and thats it!!!   Yep.  Why are they doing it all the time now?   - Cris Collinsworth is solid on SNF, John Gruden needs to go back and be the jock strap washer for his boyfriend favre   I like Gruden in the booth, except for his obvious man-love for Favre last week.  God was that uncomfortable or what? 50th anv. of the AFL … they are the only ones really doing it.

  - Throwback jerseys are overused, have every team do it one week and thats it!!!    [/quote]   Yeah, this is starting to piss me off. I am sick and tired of turning to a game and having to wait until they post the score at the top of the screen or see the name on the back of a jersey to know who the hell I am watching. Those Bronco's uniforms should be charged with a war crime they were so heinous.   Hey NFL, they are called 'uniforms' for a reason.

Gruden is great in the booth, Collinsworth is great too.  I like them both as announcers.  Grudent definitely blows Tony Cornhole_iser or whatever his name is away, thank God MNF has a solid announcing team now as oppossed to one token idiot all the time

Oct 15, 2009 7:43 pm

Cornhole was the worst, but Gruden is trying to be John Madden.

Oct 15, 2009 8:39 pm

Gruden is good, Titans are not.

Broncos win their division.

Oct 15, 2009 9:03 pm

I think the producers asked Chucky to show some more emotion, hence his over the top man crush on Favre, it all seemed a bit made up to me.  He had and has not acted that way before/after.  He knows football and the best rookie booth guy I’ve ever heard.

Ron14- The beatdown for the Titans of the season will be New England this week. I don't see any way that the Titans win more than 3 games especially when they put VY back in as QB to audition him for a trade. They will turn over a lot of folks from the defense who are in last years of their contracts....Look for the franchise to be remarkably different on the field next year.....have to get a QB, need a CB, need 2 LB's and a Safety.....need a TE.....what else???

Oct 16, 2009 8:24 pm

They are 0-5, yes they suck, thats not breaking news

Oct 19, 2009 2:00 pm

I called the Titans beatdown correctly but wow what a historic beatdown…

Oct 19, 2009 2:10 pm

Should they go to Young or have they given up on him ? Who is the 3rd stringer ?

1. Really name 15 who are better this year(I think ex Bear quarterbacks get a bad rap, because RON TURNER makes everyone look like an idiot… Kyle Orton senior year 3090yds, 31tds, 5ints…not bad stats…in fair disclosure I don’t like him either… But systems quarterbacks work for a reason)

2. Lions are getting better, but yesterday was embarassing(Look how far the titans have fallen without Schwartz)

3. Miles Austin will have some more good games until his speed disappears.

4. It will be around think of all the qbs in college(Tebow, WV Qb, Pryor)… The run and shoot is still around…Spread Offense.

5. Disagree, there is always a game where a team drops the ball(Eagles vs Raiders)

6. Don’t mind them

7. Collinsworth is ok, his voice is kind of irritating… I like Gruden doesn’t sound like a drone, can’t stand Jawarski.

In fairness to the titans they were missing three starting defensive backs…

TE??? They have Scaife, and piano ass Crumpler… They just need a qb to throw to them… And they need a reciever… Kenny Britt will be good, but he is a rookie, they need a veteran threat…

Defense is almost the same as last year except the coordinator… So I think Chuck Cecil needs to go(or call Schwartz and find out what he did differently)

I think they can get 3-5 wins… St Louis, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Seattle, houston(toss up), sd(if they don’t need the win to get into the playoffs) and maybe miami.
Oct 19, 2009 3:04 pm

Whoa… matt schaub 4??? is that his ranking or the number of games he will play in this year…

Tony romo? he is terrible…hope you don’t need him to win a playoff game for you…

kurt warner?? really?

Sanchez?? 8 ints in last 2 games, and cost his 2 victories…

Oct 19, 2009 4:41 pm
1.  Tom Brady 2. Drew Brees 3.  Peyton Manning 4.  Matt Schaub 5.  Carson Palmer 6.  Joe Flacco 7.  Ben Roethlisberger 8.  Phillip Rivers 9.  Donovan McNabb 10.  Eli Manning 11.  Tony Romo 12.  Jay Cutler 13.  Aaron Rodgers 14.  Kurt Warner 15.  Matt Ryan   I will take everyone of these guys over Favre, they are not ranked in any order
Oct 19, 2009 4:47 pm

Yeah Romo has sucked in playoffs and so did Peyton Manning his first few seasons.

  Favre - Last 10 yrs- playoff record 3-6, 16 TD's / 20 Turnovers
Oct 19, 2009 5:42 pm

Seriously your issue with Favre might need some professional help…

Favre has a superbowl, romo doesn’t.

And i would take favre over the following:

Cutler(younger version of favre, just as careless as favre was last couple years… but has a cannon to make insane throws)

Warner(has so much talent at wide reciever that rex grossman would look like a superstart)

Matt Ryan(look at the game last night against a terrible bears defense and get back to me)

Tony Romo(I don’t understand why people like this guy… No name college with stats no better than Orton(except Orton did his against the Big 10)is a terrible leader… TO wasn’t the problem obviously

Schaub(when he plays a full season get back to me… hope your back up is good(not Sage) or your team is screwed)

Flacco(ok qb…looks better than he is because the ravens defense is still one of the best in the league… And Cam Cameron, terrible head coach…great coordinator)

Donovan(loved him in college, can’t stand Andy Reids offense, and the lack of recievers and terrible play calling makes Donovan look bad… injury thing too)

Ben(never really liked him… he seems to make the game slow down so bad it looks like backyard football)

Carson(when healthy great qb and he deals with more issues than Romo has)

Top 10(this season)

Drew Brees

Brett Favre

Tom Brady

Phillip Rivers

Eli Manning

Peyton

Carson

Aaron Rodgers(he takes a beating every game cause his line sucks so bad)

ben

no order, not sure it is 10

My issue with Favre, again, for the 10th time isn’t his career. I said he is top 3 of all time. My problem is with his ego and his offseason bullsh*t.

If you think Favre is the reason the Vikings are good you are a complete goon. Has he improved them yes, BUT THEY MADE THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR. It is the defense, o line, and AP. With those in place any QB will play well.
