Is my man disrespectful or is it normal?

First & foremost I would like to say I hate posting things this personal but my phone has been ringing off the hook & I can not get ahold of my loved ones. So I had no choice but to post in a public forum
Anyways I have been with my significant other (SO) for many years & while we are very happy together he has developed a pattern of behavior that I question.
Over the years he has hinted here & there that when we are “out with people” he just “prefers” that I smile a lot & say very little.
Lately though,…he is no longer even hinting …today he calls me from work 5 times & reminds me to " smile…you have $23 000 Davincis. Show them off but kindly keep your thoughts to yourself. At the most only speak when spoken to.& Tonight is a very important night. It would mean a lot to me if u remembered to just smile & not talk "
I feel like packing my bags …I’m so mad. But I need a second opinion FAST…before I do something stupid.
Do u think I’m over-reacting or is this normal? Do y’all u guys say this to your SO’s?

Yes, but she evidently has very nice "Da Vinci's". In her world that covers a mulTITude of faults. Mrs. Obama - do yourself a favor and just watch the forum for a while. I am with you on that! It feel like "I see stupid people every time she writes some new Bullshit!"
