Wow, I'm really bored on a Friday night.  No more girls' night (or in this case girls' weekend in Vegas) for my wife.  Wine and regRep do not mix.

But , I've let my imagination get the best of me.

I was thinking of how sharp the attacks can get on Jones when people pile on (to which I am responsible) and how staunchly they are defended, so while drinking some beer and watching "King Arthur", I've come up with the following scenarios and character assessments.  *** This is a work of pure fiction - Any resemblence to people who are real life or characters on this board is purely coincidental.

Edward Jones is part of an evil kingdom run by a cabal of powerful men and women (GPs) who work from behind the shadows to increase their influence and take from their (Seg 1 and 2) peasants and tenant farmers.  The Nobles (some Seg 4 and Seg 5's) have little influence with the exception of a few and are kept quiet for the most part with the taxes (haircut) that is exacted from the serfs.  Their are also Defenders of the Faith and their groups of knights, warriors without peer and paragons of virtue and honor (Seg 3's, some Seg 4's and a few Seg 5's).   B24 - A true Defender of the Faith, even one he doesn't believe in any longer.  He is more than capable, but doesn't like to fight.  He will if forced however, and woe to anyone who gets in his way.  He struggles daily with his faith and whether it is the right path for him, or if he should abandon the Virtuous Green for more personal fulfillment.  He is becoming more distant and the Nobles are beginning to notice.  His squire (BOA), paid directly by the cabal, has begun to notice and has started to document their conversations.   Spaceman Spiff - The paladin of the Virtuous Green.  While fair and even-handed to his enemies, he nonetheless will not hesitate to decapitate the mercenaries and terrorists (Indy's and RIA's) in a heartbeat.  In addition, he has no qualms about destroying entire armies of goblins and orcs (Wirehouses and banks).  He is a minor noble, but the cabal has their eyes on him to bring him and his abilities into their fold.  But how to do so, when his heart is so pure?   Borker Boy - A fallen warrior.  While an excellent swordsman and axeman, his faith has been shattered, as he has seen into the heart of the evil cabal.  He cannot leave, but neither can he stay.  The cabal is faced with a dilemma - cut out the cancer, or keep him since he does a great job of destroying the cabal's enemies (clients portfolios).   ***Side note - I know I'm leaving some people out, maybe you guys will be bored as well and post your own threads.   Opposing the evil cabal are the mercenaries.  Propaganda put out by the cabal has said that the free people are not to be trusted and that the truths they speak are twisted lies.   These small bands of mercenaries (often 1 or 2 people) fight against the tyranny of the cabal, attempting to bring the Defenders of the Faith to their side.   bspears - Spears, a former knight and defender of the faith.  His illusions were shattered over several platoon meetins in which he could see through the Virtuous Green commanders lies.  Unable to stomach the falsehoods any longer, he courageously forged a new path.  A path that led away from the Virtuous Green.  Using the moniker of a princess to speak out against the cabal's corruption, bspears is harsh and unforgiving, but his puissant skills have enabled him to score victory after victory against the Virtuous Green   Moraen - a former knight (who while decent at fighting, was much better at strategy), who recognizing his lack of skills with a blade, has attempted to recruit others to help him fight the vicious lies of the cabal.  A former jester, he was the favorite of a noble for one day, a day in which he got "lucky" and he killed a large enemy of the cabal, on their orders.  He fell out of favor quickly thereafter, speaking his mind so often, he was silenced more than once.  Unable to stomach the cabal's lie's any longer, he left to found his own fledgling kingdom, which is flourishing because of the level of equality provided.  There are no serfs or peasants in his Kingdom.   Anyway.  Hope this gets blasted and hope it gets bumped.  I need another drink.

Just an update for me…I’m building a war chest, acquiring lands of plenty, setting the foundation for a fight against the devil.  Currently sitting in the shadows as the serpent followers are pushing to convince the unknowing to join them in the land of lies.  The next chapter is being carefully crafted with the help of the Dragon fo Doom, the SEC.  Be on the  lookout as ponzi scheme after ponzi scheme is flushed out of the murky waters of the Mississippi.

Moraen,  I hope your hangover wasn’t too bad yesterday.  It is apparent that you drank a lot on Friday night.  Very clever and enjoyable post.  I think you at least one of the warriors DEAD on the head.  Time will tell.

Pretty clever subject although I was disappointed not to be included on the side for mercenaries. you also should have included the court jester of the EJ world Hey Kool aid.....

I believe Spiffy already inhabits the Kingdom. His full time job is spreading propaganda to keep the surfs believing the party line.

Thanks for your intelligent comment Ice.  One more time, please, tell us how you’re really rich and made more in two days vs 3 yrs in your present JOB. (Even though you have this incredible diversified portfolio for all your 403b clients)  Thanks.  PS…you’re my hero.

Oh, I was going to. But I didn’t want to be too presumptuous. Maybe part two can occur this Thursday… my daughter has a dance competition and I’ll need lots of alcohol.

I also should have included wind.

May 4, 2009 2:53 pm

Wind - Hapless ‘wizard’ who, while on a lazy walk one afternoon, stumbles into a long-forgotten cave and discovered a magical ring at the bottom. After two whole days of amazing magical feats, the wizard Wind embarks on a journey teaching the many serfs of the kingdom how to cast amazing magic and telling of his great adventures. Many serfs look at each other bewildered and ask, “Wait, you found a ring two days ago? How can you call yourself a great magician?”

Morean - you missed your calling.  Perhaps you should consider a second career in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy writing genre.  You misjudge me.  While I don’t have any love or show any mercy to the mercenaries and terrorists that attack the king and kingdom whom I serve, I feel no need to dismember all who do not live in my kingdom.  I have many friendly alliances with others who live in other kingdoms.  We may meet on the field of combat at times, but each walk away with respect for the other’s king and kingdom.  That they choose to worship or serve another king means very little to me.  It is their choice as to how they conduct their life.  Only when they viciously attack my kingdom will I choose to draw my sword and defend my king and his honor.

wired - While I used to inhabit the Kingdom, I do no longer.  I realized that I would never become the king while living in the castle and acting as a page to the knighthood. I knew that only if I left the safety and protection of the castle and took on the role of knight, defending the kingdom and conquering new lands, would I ever reach the height of nobility to which I aspire.  I'm just starting on my quest, but will continue to defend my kingdom until I no longer have the will, desire, or strength.

Geez....what a bunch of F***** geeks!  I'm gonna go watch some ESPN...I suggest you do the same!

May 4, 2009 7:43 pm

Geeks?

Uncultured cretin.    You're just mad that you didn't make the original cast.

Spiff - interestingly enough, that was what I wanted to do when I was a kid. Write novels. Didn’t matter what kind. It’s amazing the path your life takes.

My goal now is to get my company grown to the point where I can turn it over to someone to run and I can write or do whatever the hell I want. I am already getting tired of client interaction and enjoy the business side of things the most.

By the way - like your addition.

Nice read Morean and I agree with others here. You should take up a side project, but please not another Great American Novel.

Have you been watching the "Krod Mandoon?

I have in fact, been watching Krod Mandoon. Nothing like watching that ridiculous show after 18-20 hour days.

We’re re-doing our website now, and my marketing director/boss/wife is telling me I need to write more content.
