Any Don Draper style offices in this forum?

Just curious if any of you keep a small bar/liquor cabinet in your office? Is that totally inappropriate?

My guess is that is would depend on the setting… If you are in a single office and have a bar… kind of questionable

We have a small stand with whiskey and rum on it right next to the fridge. I had one couple think that I was the devil. Most people like it though.

I like to keep a flask of Gin in my desk drawer that I’ll take nips out of for the last few hours on Friday Afternoon after all the managers leave at noon.  I’ve been told by the interns that it’s very swank of me to do so.

While I understand what you’ve got in mind and it’s real cool and all…

Come on, are you serious? OK, the only time you’re allowed to have a bar in your office is when:
1. You’re in advertising
2. It’s 1962
3. And you’re on television

Do you really want someone to be able to say that you served them alcohol before they authorized any type of investment?

Do you really think that you want clients to think that you drink on the job? How about the SEC / Finra?

Honestly, other than TV or movies - I haven’t ever seen a bar in an office that wasn’t in an Indian casino or strip club. I can remember my pediatrician puffing on an unfiltered Pall Mall, but I don’t remember any bars in offices.

san fran,

This post wasn’t serious. And besides, the alcohol isn’t for clients…
