I'm going to begin using this stock as my new account opener for the new year. Few upgrades and honorable mention lately. Avatar is still setting records and Alice In Wonderland will hit imax screens soon too.   I've seen articles that Sony is looking for someone to partner with to improve their home theather systems.   Anyone here buying, selling, shorting this stock?   Discuss.

Not buying the stock, but LG is set to start selling 3D TV’s to the average consumer in 2010.  I think Samsung and Phillips are the other big players in 3D TV.  I believe you’ll still have to wear the glasses with these first TV’s, but the technology is being developed to be able to watch 3D without the glasses…really cool stuff.  I think the latter is slated for 7-10 years from now.

As any new technology, it will be expensive when it first comes out, and there will probably be problems...so I'd be willing to bet widespread purchases of 3D TV's by consumers won't really happen until 2012 or 2013.   Also of note, producers of TV shows and some movies won't want to start filming in 3D until sales of 3D TV's pick up, and consumers won't want to buy the TV's until more programming is available.   But, after seeing Avatar in 3D, my whole movie experience is changed.  2D will be out like 56k modem.

Any plans for a TV that will spray you in the face with scents?  I’m thinking it will revolutionize the porn industry.
